The International Association of Registered Financial Consultants (IARFC®) has released the Fall Issue of the Register, a national industry publication available online at www.iarfc.org and in print through subscription on the IARFC store. Topics Covered in this issue relate to Estate Planning – one of the key areas addressed by financial professionals and of great concern to their clients.

Leaving a legacy and having an estate plan in place is critical not only to clients but to those financial consultants who are looking to transition their practices. The Member Focus relates the journey of the Kahan family of RFCs and how they are setting themselves up as a generational firm. Stacy Kahan, RFC® took the lessons learned from her father and is now partnering with daughters Cara and Alana. The Register chronicles their journey and how they adapt and stay current in the professional world of financial consulting.

Other articles cover different aspects of Estate Planning including a viewpoint from an Attorney who looks at the Financial Consultant/Attorney relationship from her perspective.

Contributed articles include:

  • Securing the Client Relationship Through Estate Planning
  • The Estate Planning Lawyer and Financial Consultant – Friend or Foe
  • How to Discuss Estate Planning with Loved Ones
  • The Curious Case of the Boomerang Child
  • How to Set Up a LinkedIn Live.

Association happenings cover the new Issue of the Journal of Personal Finance, Philippines Chapter Graduation pictures, updates from the Trustee Chair, CEO, and Chapter President, and the 2023 Editorial Calendar for those who wish to send in articles for publication.

Most exciting is the announcement of the new Chair for the IARFC Board of Trustees. Effective January 1, 2023, Barry L. Dayley, MRFC®, CFP® will assume the responsibilities. The IARFC says goodbye to Dr. H. Stephen Bailey, MRFC® as he steps down after many years of leadership for the Association.

“Taking over for Steve as Chair is a hard act to follow, remarks Dayley. “He has guided the IARFC through some very tough years resulting in an Association that is ready to move forward with an aggressive concentration on growing the membership. I welcome the challenge to build on his achievements and increase the IARFC footprint.”
